About Us

EVG began in 1978 by Paolo Bille in Badsey who primarily traded produce for local growers. He expanded the business over the next two decades across the Vale of Evesham, by bringing his brother Pasquale on to the team in 1999. From that time, Paolo and Pasquale have expanded further into our Blackminster site, our head office, and across multiple farms around Worcestershire with over 600 colleagues working in our businesses. Since then, our team have supplied the retail market for nearly 40 years.

Today, we farm over 4,500 acres and are one of the largest farming businesses in the Midlands. We supply almost a fifth of the total UK market for tomatoes, 52 weeks of the year, and we are also the second largest grower of spring onions in the UK.

Vision

To be a family-owned business, growing and providing quality produce, in an enjoyable work environment, and to be as sustainable as possible whilst doing so.

Company Values

1. Community – as a family owned business, we pride ourselves as supporting the wellbeing of our workforce and for being a great place to work.

2. Quality – we provide top quality products to all our customers and clients.

3. Innovation – through our teams’ great knowledge, we are constantly innovating to provide great tasting, and sustainably grown produce.

Our Sites

Blackminster

Our head office is based in Blackminster, on the outskirts of Evesham, and this is the central office for commercial, technical, production, and administrative staff. This site is also home to our tomato packing operations, where over 300 tonnes of tomatoes are hand selected and packed every week.

Springhill

Our Springhill Farm site is home to our spring onion and other salad crops packhouse. Our farms team are also based out of this site. Here you can also find our 5 hectare Springhill glasshouse and VGE’s first anaerobic digester, 1.5MW in size.

We are also developing a biomethane gas to grid injection plant at this site. This also means that we can provide biomethane fuel to power vehicles with.

Rotherdale Farm

This 650 acre farm is home to our companies Vale Green Energy and La Serra. The site is split between a 19 MW solar farm, a 4.5 MW anaerobic digester, an 8 hectare lit glasshouse, with the rest devoted to growing arable crops.

La Serra

This 8 hectare lit glasshouse is the most advanced and energy efficient LED site in Northern Europe. The first crop was planted inside in 2019. At our La Serra tomato site, the team hand select and pack up to 100 tonnes of tomatoes every week, in an 8 hectare lit glasshouse.

Our Standards & Practices

Our Activities

We have been working with FareShare since early 2020 to help redistribute extra produce, and help those most in need of sourcing fresh vegetables. Since then we have supplied them over 300,000 meals.
